Q. Do you provide financing?
A. No. However we can direct you to appropriate Lenders and Financial Planners that will best suite your project and financial needs.
Q. Can I make changes to the project after it has started?
A. Yes. There is the Work Change Order process you may initiate by requesting a change. We write up the scope of work, cost & time frame to perform it then submit it to you. You may authorize us to proceed, change the scope or choose not to proceed. We do charge a fee for writing Work Change Orders to offset management costs.
Q. Will I have to manage schedules and workers on the project?
A. No. That is our job. There are too many outside issues to coordinate that require full time attention.
Q. What is your guarantee?
A. We guarantee a successful project or we will by lunch.
Q. Will I need to hire an architect or manage preconstruction design professionals?
A. No. We manage all aspects of design and coordination of other professionals required to plans and permits. Your primary point of contact will be Henderson Bay Construction. Our goal during design is to streamline your necessary decision making time. We also wish to ensure that the best balance of your needs are considered and coordinated with our out-side team of professionals.
Q. How messy will the construction be?
A. Construction is always messy. Even though we practice good house keeping it will not be the orderly, clean environment to which you may be accustomed. We install soil and dust control measures while we work, however it is impossible to maintain a “normally clean” environment during construction. At the end of the project we use reputable house cleaning services for the final cleaning of construction areas. If you have special needs or aversions to dust and dirt please let us know at the beginning of design so we can plan accordingly.
Q. Will you work with us to reduce the disruption to our lives during construction?
A. Yes. Let us know your needs at the beginning of design so that we may plan the project coordination accordingly. If you feel your endurance may be tested to the limit, you may want to plan some time away during the project, or it may be possible to do your project in phases allowing for a period of normalcy before starting the next phase.
Q. Will we have some say in the selection of the finish products?
A. Yes. Initially we set up budgets for your project then you get to go shopping with our Interior Designer and make final selections. We do not provide a franchise service because we want our customers to have access to the widest selection of options that will best suite their needs
Q. If I have a concern to who’s attention should I bring it?
A. You will be working with Project Managers during both the design and construction phase of your project. They are very interested in addressing concerns you may have before they become problems. you will be able to communicate with the Lead Carpenter assigned to your project for the day to day matters.
Q. Is it possible to plan a time away from the project?
A. Yes. On larger projects the critical elements are in place by the time electrical work is nearing completion. Usually not until after interior painting is complete will there be much requiring decisions on your part. We have successfully worked with several customers that have been out of the area during most of the construction of their projects. Digital photographs and E-mail work well for communication details over long distance.
Q. What are the critical events during the project I should pay particular attention to?
A. To start with, the shape of things during framing and prior to plumbing rough-in. After framing is complete we conduct a walk thru with yourself and the electrician before and after rough-in wiring. Final design decisions that may not have been finalized during design will be addressed in advance of installation when possible, however we appreciate that some customers may need to see how adjoining details take shape before they can make a final decision.
